Valuable life lessons to learn from General Buhari's victory

Nigeria's 2015 presidential elections has come and gone living us with lots of valuable life lessons.
Below are 4 lessons learnt from the emergence of GMB as the winner of the.
presidential election ;

1. Never give up on your self, dream or vision

For 16 years GMB contested and failed to become the president of Nigeria, but he did not give up. He was persistent, determined and he believed in his himself and his dream, and
finally in 2015 he succeeded, making him the
Abraham Lincoln of Nigeria and of our
generation.
Lessons: Most great men and women did not get it right the first time, the tried and tried till they made it, e.g Abraham Lincoln, Nelson
Mandela, Micheal Faraday, The wright brother
and our very own General Buhari, just to mention a few.
Life is not a bed of roses, you may fall on your way up,but your ability to raise up and continue the battle is what makes the difference.

2.Failure could sometimes mean you are not yet prepared for the role.
For all the 3 consecutive times GMB contested for presidency,a noticeable pattern was that his votes were from northern Nigeria and it was perceived by other Nigerians that the North was his focus,he also barely campaigned in South. If he had won at these time he might have rule the country with that mindset.
In 2015, he campaigned differently across the length  and breath of the country,he had finally learnt that votes from one section or religious group was not enough to win the election. Also through the way the incumbent president Goodluck Jonathan gracefully accepted his lost and put Nigeria first before his ambition,he has taught GMB how to be a true Democrat.Thereby making GMB better prepared for his role as the president of Nigeria.

LESSON :We need to look in ward and around us to check if we are truly prepared to handle our achievement. Remember when
preparation meets opportunity destiny is born.

3.Do not let anyone distract you from your goals.
GMB did not allow anyone to distract him from his dreams,he was ridiculed, called names and Millions of naira was paid to media houses to
damage his reputation, embarrass and intimidate him,but rather than waste his time retaliating and paying them back,he focused on the big picture.
LESSONS:
Never stop to throw stones at every dog that barks, people may not know the difference. Don't be distracted by the battle rather prepare for the war. Not ,every battle is worth fighting.Dont waste your time listening to or replying your enemies rather focus on how to
achieve your goals.

4.Only God has the final say in your life.

Most people did not give GMB a chance .He was tagged a failure. Prophets, witches and wizards,Gurus, political analyst all predicted his failure. And truly it seemed he was going to fail because of the power of incumbency that over the years has grown to be a powerful force to
reckon with in Nigeria's politics.
It was expected that even if wins the election he might not be allowed to rule .He was not discouraged and on 31st March,2015 he was declared the winner.
LESSONS:
So many people are limited today due to people's opinion about them, they cannot move forward in life because they believe that they have been jinxed by some forces .
Do not let anyone's opinion about you discourage you. Robert Carson was told he would not amount to anything by his teacher in school but today he is a world renowned neurosurgeon. God alone has the final say in your life and not man, just try to do your best, play by the rules and do the right things.

NB: These are strictly  my opinion, feel free to add yours or correct me if you think I am wrong.
Cheers.
